Getty Images short film finalists now online

Getty Images held a short film competition called The Next Big Idea where entrants had to pitch a 30-to-60 second short film that consisted of at least 50% stock footage from the Getty Images library. Out of 240 initial pitches, the 28 final films are now available for your viewing pleasure on the Getty site:

And of course I have to plug my own Getty Images short, The Closest Thing to Time Travel, which is entry #22. On the main voting page it's fifth row down, second from the left, or just go here to view my film directly:

Grand prize in this competition is $10,000 and while you're encouraged to vote for your favorite, please keep me in mind as I'm a nice person who really needs the money and made, I think, the film with the best story, if not the slickest effects.

Mary - Aaron Ruell

"Mary" and "Everything's Gone Green" played at Sundance a while back. Great stuff. You can find them both over at the Uber website (which is pretty fun) along with all of Aaron's commercial work.
